Award season might have come to a close, but the glitz and glam are forever inspiring! The Oscars, as always, brought us outstanding looks from head to toe. We saw an array of gorgeous gowns, perfect hair, and of course…flawless makeup. We’re going to share with you a few of our favorite looks and give you tips and tricks on how to recreate them!
Serving modern Victorian vibes, Hailee Steinfeld brought us some serious red carpet magic! She rocked an elegant see-through smokey eye with a pinky peach neutral color on her cheeks and lips. Smokey eyes don’t always have to be stark and dark; we want to be able to see through it! We love a taupe shadow all over the lid that’s softly blended out into the crease. One of our go-to products to recreate Hailee’s red carpet look is Sable eyeshadow from MAC. Layer it on top of MAC’s Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Stick in Soft Steel. These are AMAZING and give your shadows all day staying power! Apply the Colour Stick directly to your eyelids and blend it out into your crease with a MAC #217 brush. Use the same brush to apply Sable eyeshadow to your lids!
Another show stopping look was Janelle Monae, dripping in metallics. We could not get enough of her! Metallic shadows are a huge trend right now, and the Academy Awards certainly represented that. Our must have for metallic eyes is the Lorac Unzipped Gold Eyeshadow Palette. This palette has stunning shades that are incredibly flattering on darker skin tones as well as neutrals that are beautiful on all complexions. No matter what your skin tone this palette has a collection of gorgeous golds that will bring the Oscars to you!
Our final pick was the beautiful Emma Roberts. She brought us some major Jessica Rabbit bombshell vibes! You can never go wrong with a red lip and a neutral eye. We especially loved the warm, gold and bronze hues on her eyes; they compliment her magnificent new red hair seamlessly! The same Lorac palette we recommend for Janelle would work perfectly to recreate Emma’s look, proving its versatility! Upon recreating her iconic red lip, we recommend Dangerous lipstick by MAC. It’s an arresting matte red with a hint of orange that’s flattering on all skin tones. Pair it with their Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Kiss Me Quick.
We hope you love our Oscar picks as much as we do. Be sure to check out our favorite products worthy of Academy Awards and recreate your favorite look from the red carpet!
