Warmer months are great: with the chance to hit the beach, go outdoors, and plan for summer vacation… but it does come with a downside. All that sunlight, tends to make things hot, and with that comes sweat. Now sweating isn’t exactly bad per se, it’s the smell that accompanies it. So here at Beauty Coach, we’re here to give you some tips about keeping that unwanted stench at bay. That way, you can enjoy the sun without having to worry about whether or not you need to hit the showers!
1. Invest in a good deodorant!
As the first line of defense, we recommend using a deodorant that’s not only effective, but gentle as well. With the heat making your body constantly perspire, you’ll have to reapply. Brands like Schmidt’s Naturals and Tom’s of Maine are not only organic and natural, but long lasting as well: offering maximum protection. Try Schmidt’s Rose+ Vanilla Deodorant Jar or Tom’s Long Lasting Lavender Stick for a fresh new scent!
2. Apply fragrances in the right areas!
Another way to make sure that you’re smelling fresh despite the sweat, is to make sure that you’re applying your perfumes in the right areas. Behind the ears, underarms, elbows, wrists, and knees are the most effective ways to retain the fragrance!
3. Make sure you’re washing well!
Sweat actually doesn’t have a smell. What actually causes that unwanted scent when you sweat is the bacteria that grows in warm and moist environments. To prevent yourself from smelling, make sure that you’re washing up really well and rinsing off everyday. We recommend trying products like Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser or Dove Gentle Exfoliating Body Wash for an effective everyday wash!
4. Wear breathable fabrics!
A sure way to cause sweating is by wearing fabrics that don’t breathe. Not only will you sweat twice as fast, but you’ll also trap that sweat, making it impossible to evaporate… so you’re basically walking around in your own personal sauna. However, wearing fabrics like cotton and spandex not only allows your skin to breathe but they’re also super comfy!
