Mental health and wellbeing can really affect our day to day lives, and despite the lack of discussion around it: mental health is just as, if not more, important as physical health. So here at Beauty Coach, we want to make sure your mental state is positive and the best it can be!
Mental health decline can be contributed to a lot of different factors. Stress, loneliness, inactivity, and even lack of sleep are huge culprits. However, tackling these factors don’t have to be a pain. It all starts with a positivity cleanse. To start: build positive relationships, and get rid of the negative ones.
Your social circles can really affect your day to day mental state. Find support in the people who love you and be sure that their support for you is unconditional, no strings attached. As much as we hate to admit it, we tend to keep people around who don’t want what’s best for us, and it’s pretty obvious who those people are. You don’t have to sever ties with them completely, but it might be a good idea to find new friends who are a positive influence on our stress levels. Join a group and volunteer! Giving back and communicating with people who are passionate about the same things you are is never a bad idea.
The next step in a positivity cleanse is making sure that you get rid of negative vibes. Negative vibes don’t just come from people, but places, things, and ideas too. In order to improve our mental health, making sure that you aren’t attached to these stress filled stimulators can make the biggest difference. Take time for yourself and your thoughts. Go on a trip alone, explore your city by yourself, go to the library with a good book: taking time for yourself doesn’t have to be lonely. It can be a time of self discovery and self love!
Another great way to cleanse yourself in a positive way is to make sure that you’re active. Not only physically, but mentally. Make sure that your emotions are expressed in a positive way, and ask for help when you need it. Don’t pressure yourself and make sure that you’re always finding new ways to grow and expand on making yourself and those around you better. Remember to love yourself and put yourself first!
