5 MINUTES TO MAGIC: THE MAKEUP EDITION

News flash: We here at Beauty Coach are busy. Like, really, really busy. And though we’d like to spend our mornings leisurely primping and prepping, the Clock. Is. Ticking. But seriously – we can literally here it.

And the claim that we ‘woke up like this?’ Sadly, the reality is less idyllic. So, like any good beauty devotee, we’ve whittled it down to a list of musts that make up our five-minutes to magic routine. We assure you, it really is magic: Maximum impact, for minimum output. Which is like gold to all of us ladies who are puttin’ in work. Read on to get the short, step-by-step list – and discover how you can achieve beauty bliss in five minutes or less.

Step 1: Lighten and brighten. We don’t know about you – but our under-eye area is looking downright shady. To counteract the effects of far too little sleep, we sweep on NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, which touts a luxurious texture, plus instantly blurs imperfections; it’s also ideal for highlighting, contouring, correcting and perfecting.

Step 2: Conceal and protect. Though we’ve tried to streamline, we find this second step works best with two totally unstoppable products. Start by applying Colorscience Mattifying Perfector, which creates the perfect, matte base for your makeup. Delivering a powerful blend of aloe vera and essential oils, it helps to diminish the appearance of fine lines and pores. Next, smooth on Elta MD Broad-Spectrum Lightly Tinted Sunscreen. It’s lightly tinted, which lets your skin shine through for a natural – but better – finish. Buff the products together with a kabuki brush.

Step 3: Get flushed. For a freshly flushed look, we like Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks. Using your fingers, apply it to the apples of your cheeks, and blend out with a kabuki brush. Next, tap it onto your lips for a style that’s both youthful, and monochromatic.

Step 4: Define and balance. We’ve always been told that our eyebrows are sisters, and not twins. But TBH, symmetry is kind of our kind of thing. So, we lightly fill in any sparse areas using Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Mechanical Brow Pencil. Its’ fine tip makes it a snap to use, and the included spoolie brush lets us blend out any harsh lines for a natural finish.

Step 5: Accentuate. We never neglect our eyes – they are, after all, the windows to our souls. But, to save ourselves some time, we’ve kicked brushes and liners to the curb. Instead, we reach for Laura Mercier Matte Caviar Stick Eye Color, which comes in a ton of eye-popping shades and can be applied in a variety of ways. Nary a brush is needed; simply smudge and go. Lastly, swipe on Dior Diorshow Iconic Waterproof Mascara, which delivers long, separated lashes that last all day.

We guarantee: Five minutes or less – and you’ll look and feel totally fly.

XOXO,
Beauty Coach Team
