Our day with Olivia Holt was exactly what you would think it would be, colorful and carefree. We were overjoyed when Hollywood’s Southern Sweetheart, Olivia Holt, was able to take some time away from her music career and hit Disney Series (I Didn’t Do It) to hang with us. There was no hesitation from the ex-gymnast turned actress when we asked her to ride around West Hollywood on a bicycle, strapped to a bunch of balloons, in the 90 degree weather! This is not surprising, considering how hardworking, polite, and carefree Olivia is. Spending the day with her felt like a magical day at Disneyland full of laughter and fun. Imagine frolicking around the park with your BFF without the crowd or any lines, pure joy! We wanted to play and get colorful with her so we enlisted Olivia’s hairstylist, Marissa Marino and makeup artist, Natalie Malchev, and told them to get creative. Think Pop Art and bright colors, mixed with fun activities! Check out what they came up with!
Hair: For the updo I started by working off of Olivia’s natural, air-dried texture. I wrapped random pieces with a 3/4″ Enzo Milano curling iron to define the curls a little more and take away some of the frizz. Once that was done, I sectioned a Mohawk section on top and sprinkled Unite Expanda Dust throughout, giving texture and volume. I back combed and secured into place with Bobbi pins. In the back with the remaining hair, I tied it all into knots and again secured to her head with Bobbi pins. To add extra flare, I used a shiny, long metal clip from Free People to each side.
Makeup: This look focused on eyelashes! Use pink tones to achieve this soft feminine look. Eyeshadows used here are from the Dior 5- Couleurs palette in Rose Tutu paired with medium and long individual lashes from Ardell. Olivia’s pink lips are by OCC lip tar in “Femme” and “Hush” mixed together.

For this look, I used a wig and actually spray painted it the night before (DO NOT do that to your own hair!) If you want to achieve something similar I recommend using Kevin Murphy Color Bugs in Pink and Orange. Pick random pieces throughout your hair and alternate which color you use for a fun change up for the day! They will easily wash out with shampoo.
Again, this is a wig but if you wanted to achieve a color similar you could use manic panic lavender or see a professional. I rooted this wig with Kevin Murphy Color Bug in Purple. Then I pulled all the hair over to one side and very loosely fish tailed it, stopping halfway down to leave a lot of ponytail. I secured it with a metal gold hair tie to spice up the look! Then pulled pieces out around her face to give it a more messy vibe.
For the ponytail I worked off of that same texture that I had already done earlier. This ponytail is actually an optical illusion because it’s not one ponytail, it’s three! I separated into three sections and secured all with rubber bands directly underneath one another so that you couldn’t see more than one. This ends up making the ponytail seem much longer. I sprayed with Oribe Superfine around her hairline and sprayed with Unite Texturiza throughout the ponytail.
“When you put talent, light, creativity, and laughter together, you get magic. This was honestly one of my favorite shoots ever! We played around a lot with the wardrobe, the makeup, and the hair. It’s all so different and fun. Everyone with Beauty Coach brought such fun energy and set the best tone for this shoot which made it all the more fun! Stoked about it and stoked I got to work with such great people.”

To make Olivia’s eyes pop I used a turquoise gel liner by Inglot in #87. To really achieve this summer look pair your line with a coral lipstick by Mac in “Ravinshingly Rich”.
To go with the cotton candy pink slept in messy hair smudge a blue pigment called “Naval Blue” by Mac. To keep your eyes looking bright keep away from smudging shadow on the lower lash line.
A classic cat eye paired with a golden shimmery shadow was used to really make Olivia’s brown eyes sparkle. A felt tip liquid liner pen is the easiest way to make sure you get the perfect cat eye! Stila’s liquid pen in black is a favorite! Don’t forget to pair this eye look with a sky high set of lashes like the one Olivia has on my Monda Studio in “Wispy”. To go with any classis eye look use a nude lip color like this one in “Anita” by Nars.
