Sometimes it gets tough not to notice your pores, especially for those of us who’s skin tends to be oily or combination. Contrary to what people might think, large pores are not blackheads. They are actually oil that your skin releases and honestly, this wouldn’t be such a big problem if they didn’t look (and feel) so dirty! Yes, we have pores all over, but the pores on our face (especially our nose) are a lot more noticeable! Unfortunately, you can’t make these little pests go away forever but what you can do is slow down the process!
When dirt and oil clog your pores that means that it’s time to deep clean. Opposite from the name however, this doesn’t mean scrubbing away like a maniac! The skin is super sensitive, so we have to start easy. Use a gentle cleanser such as Tata Harper’s Purifying Cleanser which not only unclogs pores, but rids the skin of dead cells and buildup. All this while still being gentle enough to allow the skin to retain its natural oils. Next, start small and add a gentle scrub like Soy Face Exfoliant from Fresh. This will not only help in the pore department but will slough off built up of dead skin.
Furthermore, a great way to minimize the appearance of pores (sadly, we can only lessen the appearance of pores because they never shrink) is to use a facemask that aims to soak up the debris in your skin. Products such as Boscia’s Charcoal Deep Pore Exfoliating Peel Gel, and Origin’s Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask draws out the dirt and oil from the pores, leaving the skin free of impurities and dullness.
Another temporary solution that we stand behind is Biore’s Pore Strips! Biore’s Pore Strips act like paper mache when you dampen and place them in the area to be treated. Let these little wonder strips dry for about 15 minutes, after which the paper hardens and attaches itself to the built up dirt and oil. By gently peeling off the paper you will actually see all the debris stuck to the surface! Yeeyow!!!! Although it’s a temporary solution, it sure does come in handy when you need a quick fix. Not only that, but Biore also offers you the option to purchase nose pore strips along side forehead ones. Which is a perfect option for those of us who have larger pores around the t-zone!
