About 50% of the population has sensitive skin and here at Beauty Coach, we understand that finding the perfect skincare routine can be rough. Not only that, but one of the biggest hurdles of having sensitive skin, is finding a variety of products that work with it, so your skin won’t become “immune”. So, we’ve created the go-to list for all things skincare for those prone with sensitivity.
First, a gentle face wash is a must. Products like Murad Redness Therapy Soothing Gel Cleanser and Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Cleanser are great products for those suffering from flare ups and sensitivity. They’re gentle enough to start the day in, and end the day as well. But for those who cleansing twice a day is a little much; instead, cleanse once at night, but in the morning try wiping down your face with First Aid’s Caffeine Matcha Wake Up Wipes.
Next, using a toner like Jurlique’s Rosewater Balancing Mist is great for balancing, clearing, and most importantly: hydrating the skin. With sensitive skin, being prone to outside factors like UV rays and pollution can strip the skin of it’s natural balance and hydration. So, this rosewater is infused with aloe to make sure that your skin stays calm and fresh throughout the day, and as a bonus you can even use it as a setting spray!
Other sensitive skincare essentials would be Korres Vitamin C Brightening Oil and 24 Hour Moisturizing and Brightening Cream. Like we said before, moisture and hydration are essential when it comes to sensitivity. The vitamin C oil bright and smooth, and balances the skin; and the cream leaves the skin matte, so that there’s no excess oils on top of the already applied.
Furthermore, we recommend always using a good makeup remover. Sensitive skin is more prone to breakouts, and although there could be multiple factors, leaving makeup on overnight or for extended periods of time is definitely one of them. Using products like Shiseido Essentials Instant Eye and Lip Makeup Remover Duo and MAC’s Cleanse Off Oil before washing your face at night can surely help to reduce breakouts and skin problems.
Finally, be sure to once again, switch up your products, as you never want your skin to become immune. And therefore not have the benefits of the products anymore!
