5 Minute Do’s

Time waits for no one, and for some of us, that’s definitely a problem. Whether or not we had a jam packed day, forgot about a meeting, woke up late, or went to the gym too early; all of these have one thing in common: you’re in desperate need of a shower, with no time to style your hair. Here at Beauty Coach, we’ve got some 5-minute do’s that you can accomplish right out of the shower for hair that’s ready for a night out!

1. Slicked back ‘wet hair’

This look is perfect because it’s fancy, yet casual. To achieve this look, after hopping out of the shower, use a stronghold hair wax such as Sachajuan’s Hair Wax and work it in sections throughout the hair, from roots to tip. Then use a stronghold hairspray to hold in place. Drybar’s The Sheriff Firm Hold Hairspray works well to hold the hair, all while making sure that it’s not stiff. Bobby pin the sides back and under the top and base of the hair for an even sleeker, elegant look.

2. Scrunch it!

Create some beautiful waves straight out of the shower. Towel dry your hair until it’s damp, then use a sea salt spray and spray it all over your hair. Sun Bum’s Beach Formula Sea Spray adds body, waves, and texture. Scrunch your hair for about three minutes, or until desired waves are achieved, then lock in with some mousse. We recommend Bumble and Bumble’s Bb. Curl Conditioning Mousse.

3. Braid it into a bun

There are so many different braid styles that we love. But perhaps the easiest braid that still gives that glamorous look is the fishtail braid. It’s super easy, and when finished with a bun, can be perfect for a night out. Start with your towel dried hair and add some wet texture spray such as UNITE’s BEACH Day Texturizing Spray, which adds texture and body as it dries with the hair. Then proceed to fishtail your hair either starting from the bottom up, or the bottom down, depending on where you want your bun to end up. Finish the bun with some fun bobby pins such as Anthropologie’s Crystal Clear Bobby Pin Set.
