Tressed to Impress

The red carpet never fails to inspire – and this year’s Oscars were no exception: Hollywood’s leading ladies slayed in eye-popping ensembles! But of course, we here at Beauty Coach couldn’t look away from the expertly styled strands. From voluminous waves to cleverly disheveled up-styles, no two styles were alike.

Here, we’ve rounded up our favorite looks from the star-studded night; we’re certain that they’ll be making their way to the top of this year’s most requested list, in a hurry!

Jennifer Garner: Big, sexy and effortless

Drawing inspiration from old-Hollywood starlets, Actress Jennifer Garner wore a bouncyblowout.

“I pulled a lot of images of Sofia Loren and early Elizabeth Taylor, where the hair was big and sexy, yet effortless,” says Adir Abergel, Garner’s stylist. “The key to the style is shiny, healthy hair.”

To achieve a similar look, Beauty Coach recommends starting with Oribe Signature Masque. Deeply hydrating, this treatment delivers silky, smooth, touchable locks in just a single wash.

Kristin Cavallari: Effortlessly disheveled up-style

Sometimes the most-loved styles are those that don’t require careful planning. This is undoubtedly the case when it comes to Kristin Cavallari’s striking Oscars style, which was equal parts careless and chic.

“A lot of times I try to see the future when I do hair,” says Cavallari’s stylist, our very own Riawna Capri, 901 Salon Co-Owner. “A lot of the time,” she adds, “I can’t see it. And usually, those times end up being the best.”

We recommend trying a carefree up-style of your own, which are perfect for special events. Lock your style in place with R + Co Outer Space Flexible Hairspray.

Zendaya: Ballerina bun

Zendaya wore a classic – yet utterly perfect – bun high atop her head. The simple style was crafted by stylist Ursula Stephen. It accented her striking cheekbones and made her bold brows pop.

To achieve this look at home, start with a strong hold gel, such as Davines This is a Strong Hold Cream Gel. Formulated to minimize flyaways and frizz, you’ll get an ultra-smooth look that can help to elevate your bun from gym-worthy – to red carpet worthy.

Margot Robbie: Freshly cut locks

Margot Robbie eschewed tradition: Instead of wearing meticulously styled strands, she debuted locks that were freshly cut into a chin-grazing bob. The style is already being dubbed ‘springs most requested cut.’

To achieve Robbie’s effortless movement, spray damp hair with Herbivore Botanicals Sea Mist Hair Spray; it brings new life and beachy volume to flat strands.

Though awards season has come to a close, we here at Beauty Coach are grateful to be left with inspirational images. And if 2018’s red carpet season celebrated any one trend – it was certainly that of individuality, and empowerment.

Until next year, Beauties!
